Why Arizona Cardinals fans can't buy a Marvin Harrison Jr. jersey during the 2024 NFL Draft
Colin GayMarvin Harrison Jr. is set to make the jump from Ohio State to the NFL Thursday night.
A projected top-five selection in the 2024 NFL draft, Harrison is widely viewed as one of the most NFL-ready prospects available after his All-American career as an OSU wide receiver, finishing 2023 as the Biletnikoff Award winner and as a Heisman finalist.
But fans may have to wait to buy an NFL jersey of whichever team Harrison is drafted by.
According to ESPN, Harrison has not yet signed a preliminary NFLPA licensing agreement that would allow his name and likeness to be monetized after being selected and before he is officially signed. Without signing, fans will not be able to buy official Harrison NFL jerseys. He will also not be featured in the Madden NFL video game until his group licensing deal is signed.
Harrison is the only receiver in Ohio State history to have two 1,000-yard campaigns. He has the sixth-most receptions (155), the sixth-most receiving yards (2,613) and the third-most touchdown catches (31) in program history.
Harrison is expected to be the only Ohio State player selected in the first round of the NFL draft.
