Ohio State defensive end Omari Abor plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Abor can put his name in the portal on Monday when the winter transfer window opens for 30 days. He has spent two seasons with the Buckeyes.

He confirmed his intentions in a graphic shared on Instagram in which he thanked coaches, teammates and fans for his time in Columbus.

“But I have to do what’s best for me,” he added.

Abor redshirted last season before appearing in five games this fall. He finished with two tackles, including one for a loss in a rout of Western Kentucky in September.

He was behind other reserve ends, Caden Curry and Kenyatta Jackson, in the rotation after he underwent a procedure for an undisclosed injury during preseason training camp in August.

When Abor signed with the Buckeyes as a part of their 2022 recruiting class, he was a four-star, including the No. 63 overall recruit and No. 6 edge rusher, in 247Sports' composite rankings. He is from Duncanville, Texas.
