Ohio State football could have a new long snapper in 2023.

After visiting Ohio State this weekend, former former Arizona State long snapper John Ferlmann announced his commitment to the Buckeyes, becoming the first transfer of the 2023 offseason.

Ferlmann was the No. 7 long-snapping prospect out of Boulder Creek High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He redshirted his first season with the Sun Devils.

Ferlmann will have the opportunity to replace Bradley Robinson in 2023, who spent five of his seven collegiate seasons with Ohio State including the past two as its long snapper.

After Robinson tore his ACL against Iowa, Mason Arnold took over long snapping duties for Ohio State, botching a snap on a fake punt try against Michigan in the final game of the 2022 regular season.

Ferlmann has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
