Former Ohio State defensive back Marcus Williamson, 23, has been charged with kidnapping/abduction and robbery after police say he forced a woman to withdraw $500 from an ATM in Memphis, Tennessee.

Inmate records indicate that a man with Williamson's name and birthday was booked into the Shelby County Jail Saturday and is currently being held on $80,000 bond with a court date on Sept. 7.

According to 10TV, that man is the former Buckeye who played for OSU from 2017-21.

This mug shot, from the Shelby County, Tennessee, Sheriff's Office, shows Marcus Williamson, who has been charged with kidnapping and robbery.

According to the police report acquired by the Dispatch, Williamson, a Westerville native, got into the driver's side passenger seat of the woman's black Toyota Corolla, wearing a black mask, gray hoodie and white shoes on Aug. 18. Entering her car after leaving Kami Ramen in Memphis, the victim saw Williamson was pointing to what she thought was a gun in his hoodie.

Williamson forced her to drive to a bank and told the woman to withdraw $500 in cash from its ATM. She was then forced to exit the vehicle where Williamson was seen turning off her phone and driving away. The victim stated that both her phone and her wallet were in the vehicle.

Williamson was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, aggravated kidnapping, and tampering with or fabricating evidence.

Williamson played in Ohio State’s first 12 games last season, mostly as a nickel cornerback. He drew praise for his unselfishness early in the season after not earning a starting job.

He did not accompany the team for the Rose Bowl, saying he had retired from football. When Ohio State’s defense struggled against Utah in that game, Williamson tweeted comments critical of Buckeye fans and the defensive coaching staff.
