Ayahuasca-fueled speech a very a bad trip for Ohio State

Sad shame on Ohio State University and alum Chris Pan on the debacle which was his commencement speech Sunday afternoon.

On behalf of the students, families and faculty in attendance, and Buckeye Nation past, present and future, it’s fair to say that all eyes will be on OSU and its president Ted Carter on how they handle the fallout.

In dark money Ohio politicians trust

It’s obvious that the Ohio Republicans want to listen to the voice of big money instead of the will of the people. Money corrupts and we see the results: Ohio’s citizens take a back seat. Money is the new God in Ohio politics.

Perhaps they should change our state motto to: “In dark money we trust."

Yost should thank the news

So, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost pulled out a law intended to control the KKK and decided to threaten college students with it.

I had to think about what could be his motivation for threatening prison and a felony record on students who were using their First Amendment right to protest the deaths of women and children in Gaza.

More:Yost's idea of using anti-KKK law against peaceful college protesters shameful

Then I remembered he wants to run for governor and wants to have his picture and name before the public as often as possible, no matter how bizarre the reason.

He should be thanking all the local news outlets for the free publicity.

Hamas must surrender

The students on college campuses and the people of Israel want the same thing, freedom for the people of Palestine.

The students, their campus leadership and the political leadership need to acknowledge this. No government in the history of the world has ever treated its citizens in such an inhumane manner as Hamas has and does. Palestinians have been and are being deprived of food, water and energy not by Israel, but by Hamas. They are being used as shields. Hamas is using much needed funds, not to improve the lives of their people, but to destroy Israel and its people.

More:it's insulting to say campus protesters are indoctrinated. Jan. 6 rioters far worse.

Having started this war, all Hamas has to do and still can say two words: we surrender.

The solutions that are being proposed through campus protests and our politicians will not achieve freedom for the people of Palestine. The destruction of Hamas will. All must come together to obtain this. I call upon the political leadership of our country, those who have been most critical of Israel’s current activities, to go to Palestine and use their political skills to help develop and assist the future leaders of Palestine.
